Our Mission

Colon Cancer Solutions of the Carolinas mission: to eliminate suffering due to colon cancers.  Primary target audiences include those over 50, 45 if African-American, underserved populations, and groups with colon cancer rates above the accepted norm.  Through collaboration with vested partners, Solutions brings outstanding, integrated programs from initiating partners into the community.  We are becoming a model for improving health and colon cancer prevention in the workplace.

Don't Be Afraid to Get Checked, Be Afraid Not To!

Solutions will accomplish its missions through:

  • Raised visibility of the community partners & healthcare providers through health promotion activities
  • Cooperative initiatives demonstrating successful programming in South Carolina to be shared within and outside of the state
  • Enthusiastic publicity & public events to ensure Colorectal Cancer awareness & prevention messages are widely received
  • Education & training for both survivors and caregivers to address small groups, clubs, etc. with a Colorectal Cancer Awareness message, including that of clinical trials.
  • Lowering the stage as which colon cancers are diagnosed: a preponderance of diagnoses are for Late Stage when many do not survive.  The earlier the diagnosis the better the survival potential, the lower the health costs.
  • Understanding that timely and effective use of one’s health insurance saves money and lives.
  • Trimming health cost growth by the inch through preventable hospital admissions; i.e. early screening.
